A Family-Owned Childcare Centre in Tingalpa

Sunshine Mini School is a childcare centre in Tingalpa, in Brisbane’s east, that feels less like a centre and more like a second home. We care for children from 6 weeks to school age, Monday to Friday, 7am to 6:30pm.

With five learning rooms, we’ve built Sunshine Mini School to give more families access to genuine, high-quality early learning. It’s a place where every child and their family are part of our family.

Sunshine Mini School isn’t owned by a franchise, or a group of investors or businessmen who pop into the centre a couple of times a year. At Sunshine Mini School, ‘family owned’ isn’t a throwaway line. It’s actually exactly who we are.

Sunshine Mini School is the real deal. It’s owned and run by Rebecca and Kirsty, two hands-on educators who’ve spent their careers in early childhood education, teaching, caring for and loving children through every stage of the journey.

We hold ourselves to a high standard educationally. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to build the skills children will need for the world ahead of them – critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, communication, collaboration and a genuine sense of care for others and the world around them. We stay curious about the future and open to new ways of learning and adapting.

But underneath it all, we haven’t lost sight of the simple things. Sunshine Mini School is real, unhurried, old-fashioned care based around play and genuine relationships because we believe that play is where the deepest learning happens, and where children should be allowed to just be children. That balance, of high standards and simple joy, is what the Sunshine Way is all about.
